The couple tied the knot on November 4, 2002, at St Mary’s Church in Kincasslagh, Donegal, after meeting in Tenerife and falling in love. Their love story has been cherished by fans, not only for its sincerity but for the quiet strength of their enduring bond. While Daniel and Majella usually keep their private life out of the spotlight, this birthday celebration showed their joy, closeness, and enduring love.

Despite their deep connection to Tenerife, where they first met, Daniel says a permanent move there isn’t in the cards just yet. In a recent interview with RSVP, he explained, “We like it the way it is. We enjoy having the opportunity to travel there and we like coming home again.” He added that they’re just as happy spending quiet days in Donegal, cherishing family time and simple pleasures.

Daniel spoke movingly about their shared life: “I feel blessed. We have a lovely life together and Siobhan and Michael have brought me great joy, as have the grandchildren. I would have had none of that if I hadn’t met Majella. She brought so much in one package.”

He continued, “Everyone says there’s something different about the person who is right for you. We’re lucky that both of us felt the same way.”

Now, with their children grown and grandchildren bringing fresh joy into their lives, Daniel and Majella are enjoying the fruit of their shared journey. Despite a bustling career in music and television, Daniel says his time at home is most precious.

“We love going to Tenerife, and we love spending time with our grandchildren,” he said. “Time off is a novelty to us… it’s lovely when we’ve the opportunity to be around.”
