The King of Country, George Strait, has announced a special intimate concert and dinner to benefit those affected by the devastating floods in Kerr County, Texas, which occurred on July 4. The event, titled “Strait from the Heart,” will take place on July 27 at Estancia at Thunder Valley indoor arena in Boerne, Texas.
Strait, alongside his longtime partner Tom Cusick, has organized this fundraiser with the goal of providing immediate support to flood victims. The money raised will be directed to the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund, which will aid affected families and contribute to Hill Country-based relief efforts.
Strait expressed the difficulty of grasping the extent of the destruction caused by the flooding, which tragically claimed over 120 lives and left 160 people missing. He emphasized that the purpose of the benefit concert is to offer vital support without delay and to honor the first responders who have been working tirelessly throughout the recovery efforts.
The concert will feature Strait and his Ace In the Hole Band, with special guests such as William Beckmann, Ray Benson, and Wade Bowen. Local first responders are eligible for free tickets, reflecting the community’s commitment to supporting those who have been on the front lines of rescue operations.
