Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Make First Public Appearance as Engaged Couple — and She’s Already in White
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Just two days after announcing their engagement, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce stepped out for their first public appearance as fiancés — and fans are already calling it her “bridal era.”
On Thursday, Aug. 28, the 35-year-old pop superstar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended the Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers game at Arrowhead Stadium, where Kelce once played during his University of Cincinnati days. The couple were joined by Kelce’s Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes and his brother Jason Kelce.
Swift beamed as she entered the stadium, dressed in a white sweater vest, pleated light-wash denim mini skirt, and knee-high off-white boots — an outfit many fans took as a symbolic nod to her new chapter. Kelce coordinated in a red-and-white polo and a Bearcats cap.
The pair confirmed their engagement on Tuesday, Aug. 26, in a joint Instagram post that included photos from Kelce’s floral-filled proposal. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift captioned the carousel. In one image, Kelce knelt with a custom-designed old mine brilliant cut ring — created with jeweler Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry — while Swift cradled his face in her hand. Other shots showed the couple embracing beneath a trellis of pink and white blooms.
The milestone comes as Swift prepares for the release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, announced earlier this month during her debut on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast. Speaking on the show, Swift praised her now-fiancé’s grounded nature, saying: “I knew he wasn’t crazy the first couple of times we talked. He was truly getting to know me in a way that was very natural, very pure, very normal.”
She added that Kelce could make her laugh “so immediately, about normal things,” calling him a “vibe booster in everyone’s life that he’s in.”
The engagement marks a new chapter for one of pop culture’s most talked-about couples — blending the worlds of music and sports with a love story that continues to capture fans worldwide.
