George Strait Announces Benefit Concert for Texas Flood Victims
In response to the devastating floods that recently struck Texas’ Hill Country, country music legend George Strait has announced a benefit concert to help those affected by the disaster. The concert, titled “Strait to the Heart,” will be held on July 27 in Boerne, Texas, and aims to raise funds for flood victims in the region.
The intimate event will feature Strait, along with members of his Ace In the Hole Band, performing alongside special guests including William Beckmann, Ray Benson, and Wade Bowen.
The concert will be part of a donor dinner, providing attendees with a unique experience while contributing to a worthy cause. The funds raised from the event will be directed to the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund, which is helping victims of the floods.
Strait shared that the goal of the event is to offer immediate support to those impacted by the floods, emphasizing the importance of getting aid directly to flood victims without delay. “The destruction and loss in our community from the recent floods is hard to wrap your head around,” Strait said in a statement. “Our hearts and prayers are with you all.”
The Texas floods, which began on July 4, have had a devastating impact across the state, with Kerr County being hit the hardest. As of July 11, at least 120 people have been confirmed dead, and more than 170 are still missing. The floods caused widespread damage to homes, camps, and infrastructure, leaving many families displaced and in urgent need of assistance. Among the victims were 36 children from Camp Mystic, a beloved all-girls Christian camp in Kerr County, which saw its facilities washed away by the floodwaters. For those interested in attending the benefit event, Strait has asked that they contact the Vaqueros del Mar organization via email at Vaquerosdm@gmail.com.
However, details on ticket availability and the specific location of the event in Boerne have yet to be disclosed. As Texas continues to recover from the disaster, the concert will also honor the first responders who worked tirelessly to save lives during the floods. This event provides an opportunity for both locals and fans of Strait to come together in support of those in need, while enjoying a memorable night of music from one of country music’s most enduring icons.
