Dolly Parton, renowned for her musical career, has once again proven that her heart is as big as her talent. The legendary singer, who plays an angel in the Netflix film Christmas on the Square, became a real-life hero when she saved the life of child actress Talia Hill on set.
Talia, only nine years old, was filming a scene at the hot chocolate station when she unknowingly walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
Dolly, who was nearby, saw the danger and rushed to pull Talia out of harm’s way. In an interview with Inside Edition, Talia shared her shock when she realized who had come to her rescue.
“I looked up and it was Dolly Parton,” Talia recalled, still in disbelief. Dolly, ever the angel both on-screen and off, sweetly remarked, “Well, I am an angel, you know,” referring to her role in the movie.
Talia’s mother was overwhelmed with gratitude, and as she witnessed the incredible moment, she tearfully agreed, “Yes, you did, Dolly Parton, yes you did.”
The story of Dolly’s heroic act has since become a heartwarming reminder of her kind and caring nature. Christmas on the Square, which features Dolly as a guiding angel, debuted on Netflix last month and is filled with her signature songs, adding extra magic to the holiday season.
For those who want to experience this heartfelt movie, Christmas on the Square is available to stream on Netflix now, with Dolly’s angelic presence shining both on screen and in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to witness her selfless act.
