NASHVILLE — The Grand Ole Opry is marking a once-in-a-lifetime milestone with a star-studded celebration to honor its 100th anniversary. Country music star Blake Shelton will host Opry 100: A Live Celebration, airing Monday, September 15, on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
Billed as “A Century of Song,” the special will showcase the Opry’s iconic legacy as the heartbeat of country music. From its humble beginnings as a radio broadcast in 1925 to its status today as a global stage for country’s biggest legends and brightest newcomers, the Opry has been the home of unforgettable performances for a full century.
The live broadcast will feature performances, collaborations, and tributes designed to capture the spirit of Nashville’s most famous stage. Organizers say the night will celebrate both the timeless classics that built the Opry’s legacy and the new voices shaping its future.
“This isn’t just an anniversary — it’s a living tribute to the music, the people, and the fans who have made the Opry what it is for 100 years,” Shelton said.
The anniversary broadcast is part of the Opry’s year-long “Rhinestone Milestone” celebration, which has included special concerts, exhibits, and fan events leading up to the September gala.
Fans can tune in live on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/PT or stream on Peacock for what promises to be one of the most historic nights in country music.
